'Sad, Tired, Very Thin': Fans Discuss Keanu Reeves' Changed Look on Date with Partner at Museum Gala

Film legend Keanu Reeves recently sparked comments of concern from social media users because of his appearance. The movie star went to an event with his girlfriend Alexandra Grant where they posed for pictures.

This past weekend, Hollywood couple Keanu Reeves and Alexandra Grant attended the Annual Hammer Museum Gala. What appeared to be a lovely date night turned into a topic of discussion among the public.

For their outing, Reeves' beloved girlfriend adorned a chic teal-colored look with a white shirt and sparkly handbag, while Reeves opted for a smart-casual outfit. He rocked a dark-colored corduroy blazer and pants and paired his look with a charcoal jacket, scarf, and brown boots.

Upon seeing snaps of the couple, many took to social media to make comments about Reeves' appearance. Referencing an article published about his attendance at the Gala, in which he was called "suave," one person wrote, "Suave?? He seems sad, tired, very thin."

Another user commented that Reeves "looks botoxed," while someone else pondered, "Did he have a facelift?? [Something] looks diff." However, amid the queries and concerns, a fan gushed, "Lovely hearted man."

For those who feel that "The Matrix" icon’s look has changed, his personal trainer, Patrick Murphy, previously gave some insights into Reeves' demanding physical work for his projects.

"JW2, JW3, Matrix 4, and JW4 [...] are the most physical roles one after the other, and for John Wick 4, Keanu had a lot more mileage, and more wear and tear on his body,” divulged Murphy. Reeves was executing all these roles that "would exhaust any young actor in their twenties" well into his fifties.

His impressive "grit and stamina" even saw him partake in daily training with Murphy after his stunt coaching. "We'd even train on weekends, for an hour each time," Murphy previously disclosed.

As far as his stunt and workout recovery regimen is concerned, Murphy revealed that Reeves is a fan of cryotherapy. "KR possesses a serious commitment to ice baths [...] One of the best recovery practices to do after all of the ground and pound stunt training is an ice bath," shared Murphy.

Although Reeves still has the moves at 59 years old, he previously admitted to experiencing some wear and tear where his physicality is concerned. "I can't do stairs as fast," Reeves once admitted.

Nevertheless, his endurance remains and when it comes to his diet while training, Reeves said he consumes foods with "low sodium" and "low fat." However, he would still enjoy a juicy steak, even on "the night before a big fight scene sequence."

When he would get time off after movie projects to do some "civilian living," in addition to steak, Keanu Reeves previously said that he would indulge in red wine. He also mentioned "a nice single malt with a big ice cube" and riding a motorcycle.

Though the aforementioned facts may place Reeves' recent appearance into context, others still had plenty to say about his partner Alexandra Grant.

"The fact that she's not full of plastic [...] like many others and is actually younger than him shows that they are matched truly and [don't care] about [...] appearance. Refreshing," praised a fan.

However, others were not as impressed with the pair and criticized their age difference and relationship. "I'm shocked at the age difference because she looks older than him 😩😳," asserted a social media user.

Concerning Grant and her romance with Reeves, someone else stated, "Happy couple? He looks sad and unhappy. And she is a fake and a fraud who only uses him for her own needs! Many people know that."

The recent backlash Grant received from online users is not the first instance the visual artist has faced criticism from the public. When she stepped out with her dashing beau to attend the MOCA Gala, her bold fashion choice sparked mixed reactions, which we previously reported on April 16, 2024.

Grant wore a long silk teal dress that had cutouts by her ribcage. The mixed comments led to a heated discussion about the pressures and scrutiny faced by celebrity figures when it comes to their public appearances.

Concerning Grant's dress, some commentators took issue with its presentation. "Her dress was completely wrinkled. I can’t believe it. I’m just saying, why didn’t she steam it? Why do this?" remarked one commenter. Another shared similar sentiments: "Well, at least she is a woman; iron your dress."

Someone else argued that humility had nothing to do with attending a red carpet-event in wrinkled clothing. They expressed, "The rich and famous have everything they could want yet insist on dressing sloppily, as if to say, 'I'm down to earth.' Come on!
